What is Telehealth?

What is Telehealth (also known as Video Therapy)?
Telehealth is a form of video conferencing or online video therapy that allows the client to be seen by a provider without having to physically come into an office. Telehealth allows the client to receive treatment from the comfort of their home or office with an internet connection.

It can be difficult for a patient to take time off from work and a busy schedule to come into the office for an appointment. Telehealth provides the client with the benefit of eliminating the stress of travel time to and from the appointment.

What does Telehealth Require?
Telehealth requires that the client have access to a private place, a computer or mobile device with a camera, and high speed internet.

The video call is conducted through VSee which requires the client download the software from https://vsee.com prior to the appointment. It is recommended to conduct a test call to ensure video and audio work properly. The client should email their VSee username to the provider prior to the scheduled appointment time so the provider is able to initiate the call.

Is Telehealth Secure?
Yes. The interaction between the client and the provider is completely secure and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant. The tele-conferencing software instantly encrypts all forms of data, including video and audio.
